OK, this post really isn't about how to make a smoothie. You all know how to do that. Throw a bunch of yummy stuff in a blender and turn it on till it's all blended together.
But do you see the rim of that glass?
This is how to make a smoothie or any other drink, fun!
I saw this post back last fall, from Cravings of a Lunatic.
The post was about making your own colored sugar. Pretty cool post.
But then Kim took that sugar and put it on the rim of a glass.
So pretty, so fun, I have to do this!
Chocolate Banana Smoothie
makes 1 glass
1/2 banana
4-6 chocolate ice cubes (you can substitute with some chocolate syrup and ice cubes)
1 cup milk
for the rim
corn syrup
sprinkles
Prepare your glass. Using a small brush or your finger, rub the top edge of your glass with corn syrup, then dip into sprinkles. Repeat with however many glasses you are doing. Set aside.
Place banana, ice cubes and milk in blender. Turn on and blend till smooth and frothy.
Pour into prepared glasses.
Sprinkles make everything more fun!

WOW..who wouldn't love that smoothie? I definitely have to make this..although I was thinking of adding some peanut butter to it ;D You definitely have to try the popovers, they're so simple, but so amazing aesthetically and taste/texture wise, especially with whatever you add to them or spread on them.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Peanut butter with chocolate and banana, yum! Will have to try that next time!
Deletecool - just saw a recipe for chocolate ice cubes and wondered how to use them. In a smoothie makes perfect sense !!!
ReplyDeleteLinda, here's the recipe I used for the ice cubes, really easy, and they also make a great Fudgesicle!
